The Global ICT Standards Conference (GISC) 2025 is the largest international conference in Korea dedicated to ICT standards and intellectual property such as SEPs(Standards Essential Patents). Since its launch in 2017, the event has served as a leading forum to discuss the future of next-generation ICT technologies and standards.

Under the theme “AI for All”, GISC 2025 will bring together global ICT standardisation experts, industry leaders, academia, and research institutions to share cutting-edge knowledge and insights. This year’s conference will address key standardisation issues in Critical and Emerging Technologies such as AI, 6G, quantum technologies etc, providing a vital platform for international cooperation. 

Global enterprises, international standards bodies, and policy institutions will join forces to explore interoperability, trust, and the convergence of standards and intellectual property, presenting a vision for the future digital society. In addition, dedicated programs such as Capacity Building sessions, the CJK IT Standards Meeting, and the Korea-EU Standards Strategy Workshop will offer opportunities for the next generation of experts and stakeholders from across industry, academia, and research to expand their international networks.
GISC 202, aims to foster inclusive growth and global collaboration through ICT standards, delivering participants the most up-to-date knowledge and valuable insights.

 

INSTAR at GISC 2025

The INSTAR consortium members will participate onsite with a closed workshop dedicated to finalising the Joint Priorities for International Collaboration on Standards (PICS) developed between each of the INSTAR Task Forces and the Telecommunication Technology Association of Korea (TTA).

During the workshop, EU-common priorities identified by INSTAR and TTA experts will be reviewed and discussed. The session will provide an opportunity to align perspectives, validate findings, and agree on next steps for joint standardisation actions.

The outcome of the closed workshop will be a refined set of standardisation priorities and options for advancing EU-ROK cooperation on these topics, helping to further strengthen international alignment in key ICT standardisation areas.
